The Australian Government recommends you arrange your ETA before booking your trip to ensure approval has been granted to visit Australia.
It is not necessary to have a trip already booked or hold an airline or cruise ship ticket before being issued with an ETA. Provided you meet the simple application requirements, your ETA will be issued; however, if there is a minor problem, our professional team will work on your behalf to resolve it with the Australian Government.
To apply all you need is:
An ETA-eligible passport.
either a Visitor/Tourist ETA or Short Validity Business ETA.
a current Mastercard, Visa credit, delta or electron card, Switch, Solo or JCB card or American Express card.
to be outside of Australia, of good health and have no criminal convictions.
We will provide you:
Email confirmation of your approval (including dates of validity, conditions, etc). Although you will be identified electronically by your ETA when travelling, you should also retain a printed copy of the confirmation as hard copy proof you have an ETA, and
Access at anytime to our site to check on the validity of your existing ETA (there is no charge for this service).
Ensure you advise your travel agent, airline or cruise ship office that you already have an ETA when booking your tickets. If your travel agent, airline or cruise ship office has not arranged or cannot arrange an ETA, you can apply for an ETA through this site but this should be done at least 24 hours before departure.
Most applicants are advised of their ETA very quickly; however, it can take up to
24 hrs depending on time zones and system efficiencies.
